17 years after his death, Tupac Shakur will receive a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
The announcement was made yesterday Hollywood Walk of Fame committee chairman David Green at a ceremony where Jennifer Lopez received her star, the 2,500th star awarded.
Tupac was so much more than just a rapper. Shakur was an actor, activist, poet, and much more. Starring in films such as “Juice” and “Poetic Justice”, Tupac put his heart into any project he did-whether music or film. According to RIAA, Tupac sold more than 38.5 million albums in his short career.
Shakur was killed in September 1996 in a still-unsolved drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. 16 years after his death, he made headlines with his hologram performance at the Coachella music festival in which the rapper’s image appeared on stage and performed with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
