Cee-Lo is getting a huge response to his new "Fuck You" track (slash single?). Almost immediately after it blew up online, G-Unit leader, 50 Cent, put out his own version of the song, adding his rhymes to the original song. Cee-Lo was not only impressed by 50's quick turnaround time, but the Goodie Mob member says he was flattered.
With the "F--- You" video continuing to gain speed online, Cee Lo and his team are scrambling to keep up. The dancing-words clip racked up 1.7 million 2.8 million YouTube plays so far (on just Cee-Lo's account, not including the clones) but Cee-Lo says the video is just a "place-holder," as he plans to put out a proper video soon (although he refuses to give any details about it). Cee-Lo also recorded a profanity-free radio version (everyone was wondering how it would get air play) to help the song's chances of getting on the air. "It's called 'Forget You,'" Cee-Lo says. "It's pretty close to the original, but not as effective. But it's politically correct." And while he had no part in creating 50 Cent's witty remix, Cee Lo is a fan. "It was flattering that he would take the liberty of joining in so quickly," he says. "I thought it was really cool."
