50 Uses Will Smith As Inspiration To Get Up

For his new video 50 Cent used some inspiration from the Will Smith movie, I Am Legend. "we came up with a concept for it, just a little more futuristic. I took a scene that I seen in a Will Smith film, 'I Am Legend.' 50 told MTV "..It's a collage that I thought was interesting" . 50 continued "In the beginning of 'I Am Legend,' New York City was desolate, like everything was just gone. Instead, that'll be Los Angeles. ... There was a scene, one of the creatures was running into the glass, and I kinda re-created that in my own way"

50 says "Get Up" is like 2 Pac's "California Love" saying "It's the same key and being played in the same key. ... It's the first thing that came to my head when I heard the beat. That's what I feel like great music does." 50 Continued "because I felt that way I started off, 'I came to bring you that California love and New York hate, all of the above.' After all, "Get Up" [listen here] is produced by Dr. Dre's former right-hand-man, Scott Storch.

50's "Before I Self Destruct" features a track with Eminem called "Norman Bates Motel." 50 says "I went to Detroit and we had an opportunity to work together...Three songs we recorded together...One I really liked it and he really liked it, so he kept it for his album" 50 continued saying "I went back and we made two more songs and we got "Norman Bates Hotel" out of that, it's exciting."
