Akon, the head of Konvict Musik, has filed a lawsuit against former partners who allegedly stole his trademark for a fragrance line.
Grammy winner Akon claims some former business partners stole his name and slapped it on bootleg perfume - and he's suing them. The R&B rapper and music producer had talks with the fragrance developers but was stunned when they formed Konvict Cosmetics International and started selling the scent "Konvict" without his approval, the suit says.
