A recent Akon concert in Australia ended in violence last night (October 26th) as a fight took place which resulted in reportedly eighteen people getting injured.  Police were called to the Melbourne Park venue about 9:00 AEDT after a group of reportedly fifty people rushed security guards to get into the Akon concert.  According to multiple sources, eighteen people, including two security guards, were injured in several fights inside and outside the venue. Eight of the injured needed to  go to the hospital. [Akon - Concert Ends In Violence - Watch Footage Here]

Footage that landed online [view here] shows Akon walking through the crowd calling on them to "calm down," while the fighting in the center appears to briefly calm down, his walk through the throng of people also seems to excite the crowd even more. Akon's promoter Dwaye Cross said that his charge had risked his own safety to calm down the crowd. "One of the things people should take note on is an artist didn't have too much concern for his own safety to go down and try and make things better." [Watch The Akon Concert Fight - Click Here]
