Once the news that A$AP Mob had closed a $1.5 million recording deal with Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records, the immediate speculation about the group members pursuing solo deals began. With that being said, it didn’t take long for the tide to start. It has come with no surprise to those in the industry that A$AP member Ferg has announced that he has closed a deal with Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records and is the first member A$AP Mob to sign a solo deal with the label.
The Harlem born artist’s first release under his new contract will be the iTunes single version of the hit track “Work”. The next move for the artist as for as future projects as not yet been revealed.
“I’m just proud right now because this is everything we wished and hoped for,” said his music partner A$AP Rocky. “A$AP Ferg worked hard for this and I put all my faith and backing into him. I feel like ‘Work’ is our generation’s ‘Sippin On Some Syrup’ [by Three 6 Mafia and UGK] or ‘Chickenhead’ [by Project Pat, La Chat and Three 6 Mafia], it has that feeling.”
Something noteworthy is that Ferg wanted everyone to know that he is currently working on developing a new clothing line.
With the news of the new signing, the speculations have already started concerning who will be the next A$AP member to sign an individual deal.
