When it comes to Beyonce’s new song “Bow Down”, there has been no shortage of opinions from fans and critics alike. One could say that the song has definitely stirred up a powerful controversy. It seems that supporters and negative critiques of the song seem to be closely split down the middle. For many of the singing star’s fans they feel she has moved away from her sexy but classy persona because the song is laden with expletives
Although the issue has no shortage of critics, one particular media figure has made his point of view on the matter quite clear. Rush Limbaugh, a man that is not known for biting his tongue and his conservative views has a harsh critique of Beyonce and her new song, but not for the reason most might think. Where most are concerned with the language, Limbaugh focuses on the fact that the song seems to be diametrically opposed to the message that Destiny’s Child was known for sending.
“Their (Destiny’s Child) songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men,” said Limbaugh. “She’s done a 180. Beyoncé, now having been married, having been impregnated and giving birth to Blue Ivy, she’s going out on a new tour. And they may as well call it the ‘Bow Down Bitch Tour’.”
Limbaugh went on to further analyze the song.
“She’s got a new song … a total 180. Beyoncé is now saying, ‘Go ahead and put up with it.’ Because she married a rich guy. She’s even calling herself Mrs. Carter on the tour. She now understands it’s worth it to bow down.”
