So here we go now! I've begun writing for "The Binge Pt. 3: Splashes of Sobriety". On "The Binge Vol. 2: Gathering Dust", I said I wouldn't be doing anymore mixtapes. Well sorry, I lied. Not being with Synaria or LadyLabyrinth (my iPod) has put me into a state of withdrawal that neither heroin nor cigarettes could acheive. So let me make this clear...

I made THE ENTIRE Hamiltonization Process (2008) without heavy narcotics.

I made "The Binge Vol. 1: Staring At The Lavalamp" while DIVING into heavy narcotics.

I made "The Binge Vol. 2: Gathering Dust" 100% weeded. Well, I wrote the songs weeded.

This binge, I'm totally going in chemical-free.

Today, I bought Power-C, XXX and Revive vitamin water, just because the names of them sound like what I'm about to get into. Charging myself up, XXX is kinda self-explanitory (lol) and bringing myself back.

THE OLD ME... the me that was "Unapologetic", before I even wrote the song. Dig?

My lawyer really pissed me off one day, and Simone was a witness. He said "Charles, you haven't made a good song since 'Loser'". Mind you, I've made it public what was going on during the recording of The Pink Lavalamp, and having some guy tell me I have to go back to that damn near set me over the edge. I KNOW I've made songs of the same calibur, if not better, probably in my sleep, DEFINITELY during THP08, and I KNOW I'll make f*cking MIXTAPES better than The Pink Lavalamp.

Deal with that knowledge.

Mind you, The Pink Lavalamp does stand as my personal favorite. So what it came under fire a few times? The attention was deverted from the negative to the superficial. It is what it is. I love that album.

But "The Binge Vol. 1" was recorded around the same time as The Pink Lavalamp (TPL for those keeping score... those 3 letters look familiar?), and that mixtape is still being considered a classic.

I AM GOING IN ON VOLUME 3!!!

Yeah, this is the SOS I was talking about sending out. Right here. So all you cats that thought the mixtape scene was safe since I murdered the mixtape rapper? Let me say it like this.

Jay killed Autotune.
I'm killing redundancy.

It's one thing to have a consistent subject manner, it's another to talk about nothing, over and over again. The difference between Ja Rule and Eminem.

That's for disrespecting my brother, Irv. Be a Gotti and clap me if it's an issue.

Also, for the record, "Death of the Mixtape Rapper" was the ONLY mixtape in THP08. Everything after that? Episodes. The main event? The Pink Lavalamp.

Obviously, not everyone is gonna call each body of music in THP08 an episode. Mixtape is too easy of a word to say. But let's not get it confused.

Also, I would like everyone to give a round of applause to my dude, Ryan "Woody" Woodcock. Yeah, that's his name. We've already laughed about it, get over it.

Woody, thank you SOO much for being a friend in the midst of all this. For those that don't know, Woody moved in to work with me, ALL THE WAY from LA. He was a runner at Record Plant, but was a DOPE producer and an even DOPER engineer. Initially, I was gonna use a few of his beats for my EndAllBeAll album...


...but we built a friendship that extended beyond a producer/artist relationship. When I first did "Toy Story", people were like "Ayo! You needed a beat, now you got a Woody?" But we were more mature than that. Hanging around Woody definitely raised my maturity level. Black is the only reason I would even say "no homo" anymore, but trust me when I tell you, we were the first ones ON EARTH to say "ayo", "pause" and/or "no homo". I'll talk about Black the Beast in another blog entry.

I'm talking about Double OD right now.

Anyway. Woody didn't have to move to NYC to be my engineer. He didn't have to stick around after the Demev fall out (yeah it's official y'all; sue me). But he did. He was out here when management and Interscope were playing tug-o-war, he was there when I was plugging the Jamaican girl (in the other room mixing records and eavesdropping... lol), he was there when I was tight about n1ggas spending my money and not doing anything to add to the pot.

The other day I admitted to him I'm kinda on edge about Show doing a mixtape putting me in his Top 5. I expect people to do nice things to me, only to stab me in the back in the end. He put my mind at ease about it. I mean, I'm a pretty likable guy (says the asshole who thinks everyone is out to get him) Now, I'm ready for anything.

So thanks Woody. I might not always show it, but you have a special place in my heart.

Yeah I'm gonna be on my "I love you guys!!!" type sh1t all weekend.

Next up, Tyrone Jamal Wright (Black). ETHER, n1gga! You thought I ain't know!
