I’m a firm believer on using whichever platform one has to change opinions and in essence,lives. There’s been a disconnect between Africans and African Americans. It a cliche to say ‘knowledge is power’,but it holds true. Images of Africa are poverty,war etc,but who powers the wars? Read up on Chocolate slaves,73% of the World’s chocolate comes from West Africa,but why are there 370,000 child slaves? Coltan in Congo;Does your cellphone,IPhone,iPad have blood? Again, children working in mines for pennies a day. Yes,African governments are to blame,but so are we,the consumers. If Cadbury’s,Nestle etc asked people to pay a penny extra for their Mars bar to ensure children weren’t used as slaves on cocoa farms,they would right? I knoe I would. Africa isn’t some distant doomed place that doesn’t impact YOUR DAILY LIFE, IT DOES!
