Dame Dash and Wife Rachel Roy file for Divorce

Rachel Roy, Dame Dash’s wife, has filed for divorce from the Roc-A-Fella Records/Rocawear co-founder.
Rocawear co-founder Damon Dash has been slapped with divorce papers by wife Rachel Roy, the Daily News has learned. The stunning fashion designer piled onto Dash's already sizable stack of lawsuits when she filed for divorce from her husband of four years this month in Manhattan Supreme Court. Ed Hayes, a lawyer for Roy, declined comment, and a Dash spokeswoman did not return calls or e-mails. An electronic record of the case says the divorce is for "nonmonetary relief" and should be resolved by February. (New York Daily News)
The couple previosuly inked a blockbuster business deal with The Jones Apparal Group for Rachel Roy's clothing line over the summer. "The company is a $4 billion dollar company, I guess we have the potential to make that kind of money. I just never been with a company that big," Dash previously said in an interview. However we never heard about the clothing line since and assume with the economy and divorce that it will not see the light of day.
As well more bad news followed in August '08 when Dash and Roy were on the verge of losing two of their Manhattan homes due to unpaid mortage debts totaling $7.3 million. |
