Posted By on February 4, 2014

TMZ has confirmed that rapper DMX has been named George Zimmerman‘s opponent in an upcoming celebrity boxing match. Daman Feldman, the fight’s promoter, explained how X was chosen.

“Celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman tells us, DMX was selected out of 15,000 applicants … all of whom wanted a piece of Zimmerman in the ring after he issued the open challenge to fight anyone willing to take him.” (TMZ)

A few days ago we reported DMX had a few choice words for Zimmerman after he got whim of the celebrity boxing match.

“I am going to beat the living f**k out him … I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up.” He then said he’d literally piss on George’s face.” (TMZ)

The time and date of the match is set to be released Next Wednesday at a News Conference.

Although both parties have had a verbal agreement on getting in the ring together, a representative for DMX says they have yet to see a contract so until then it is not %100 official yet.

Hold off on placing your wagers … money has become a big snag in George Zimmerman’s boxing match against DMX — the rapper’s rep tells TMZ, contract negotiations are STILL ongoing … so the fight isn’t official … yet. The rep Domenick Nati tells us, DMX verbally agreed to “beat Zimmerman’s ass” … IF and when he sees the terms of a contract … which hasn’t happened yet. Once an agreement has been finalized, we’re told DMX will officially be down for the bout. (TMZ)
