DMX recently spoke about recording his new album and staying out of trouble. Working hard in the studio with hopes of releasing a new album before next year, DMX is currently calling the project "Redemption of the Beast." During an interview with Billboard, X explains he's been working "nonstop, every day" on the new album.
"I kind of took it back to how I felt on my first album — the hunger, the energy, the hardness of it," he said. "I've had a lot of late nights in the studio, getting it in, getting it back to where it's supposed to be. [... The album will be] bringing hip-hop back to where it's supposed to be. It's not at a good place right now… [There's] a lot of whack rappers out there. It's too corny." (Billboard)
Despite many reports that he has worked with producers and rappers like Swizz Beatz, Dame Grease and Caviar, DMX says that he mainly has been working on the album alone. Still negociating with Rick Ross to join his Maybach Music Group, not-to-mention planning a reality show in which he would reunite with his 10 children, DMX spoke about staying out of trouble and keeping a clean slate.
“The first time around, it was given to me. Now, I'm working for it," he continued. "There's definitely a difference in what I'm gonna give, and what I'm gonna get out." (Billboard)
