Rap veteran Coolio has confirmed recent rumors that claimed he would be replacing DMX in next month's Alabama Pride celebrity mixed martial arts boxing match. According to the rapper, he suggested a good match-up against fighter Eric Martinez. "I'm not a good loser, so I don't plan on losing, it will be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to seeing my fans out in Birmingham," he said in a statement. "I'm scheduled to perform on December 11th, the night of the weigh-in and I'll rock the mic the same night after I beat up Martinez."
A representative from Thunder Promotions explained why they replaced DMX with Coolio. "I chose Coolio because he is a great entertainer and a tough guy," President Rod Riccardi said in a statement. "Not only is he going to fight, but he is going to perform live after the weigh-ins and after the fight. The location of these performances will be announced. This event is going to be the most entertaining MMA event Birmingham has ever seen." [DMX Talks About Celebrity Boxing - Watch Here]
