The CEO of the Beats Brand, Jimmy Iovine, has announced that Beats will be venturing out into a broader spectrum of the industry by providing a new digital product called “Daisy.” Daisy will be a paid streaming service in which a person can purchase a subscription and gain access to over 12 million digitally mastered songs that will provide the ultimate quality in sound. These enhanced audio streams will make the enhanced sounds of the Beats by Dre listening systems come across clearer than normal.
Concerning this new endeavor, Iovine gave the following quote: “Right now, these things are all utilities. It’s give me your credit card, here’s 12 million songs, good luck. We have an entire generation that was brought up on sound being inferior, and sound is the only conduit for emotion that we have. We’ve had ten very bad years in the audio industry. So we want the best possible quality, and it will have global scale. So it will be a balance of those things.”
