Posted By on May 10, 2013

It is been 10 years since Mannie Fresh and Birdman performed as the duo “Big Tymers”, but Lil Wayne revealed that there is a possibility that the Big Tymers may reunite, and that there may be an addition to the group, Drake!

From 1998 through 2003, the Big Tymers recorded a total of five albums under the Cash Money Label. Unfortunately, the group disbanded in 2003 after Mannie Fresh parted ways with Cash Money, citing money disputes as his primary reason. Mannie would go on to sign a solo deal with Def Jam Records.

According to numerous reports, there have been discussions over the past two years of the group reuniting and Mannie producing for some Cash Money artists. There were rumors that he was going to produce Mystikal’s upcoming album.

During a recent interview with MTV’s Rap Fix, Lil Wayne admitted that there were discussions in the air concerning the group reuniting and that the reunion might include Drake

“[There is] a possibility of a Big Tymers album—adding Drake. But that kid is busy; there’s all kinds of possibilities.”

Whether this reunion will ever materialize or not is still not clear, but it is definitely something to look out for in the coming months.
