Roc Nation's own J. Cole will soon release his new "Friday Night Lights" mixtape. The project features a song with Young Money's star, Drake who at one time was going to freestyle battle J Cole. The two later decided not follow through on the battle, rather work together to make solid great songs like "In The Morning" [listen here], one of the highly anticipated tracks from the mixtape.
"I really, really, really like J. Cole. His rhyme structures, the concepts, there's a little bit of pain in his raps. It's music, man. It's deep music," Drake recently said. Drake says he relates with J Cole's want to make inventive hip hop music. "It's a kid who is trying to draw you into his world and I think that's what it takes in rap right now. You can't just be the generic, [like,] 'Oh, I rap great,' but have nothing to say. J. Cole's really trying to draw people into his world and I respect that a lot because that's my goal, period."
