Drake Shares Snippet Of Collaboration With Aaliyah

Posted By on February 4, 2014

You may remember a few months back when Drake previewed a song featuring the late Aaliyah. You might also remember Drake’s right hand man and producer, Noah “40” Shebib,  publicly speaking out announcing the project was cancelled. Well, the collaboration project may still be in the works as Drizzy recently previewed a song with Aaliyah. The track is said to be titled “Talk is Cheap” and resembles the song he previewed in December. Check it out below:

Drake previewed the song while jumping behind the turntables during his performance with French Montana at club Griffin in New York City.

As stated before, 40 announced the end of the project a few months back, due to Aaliyah’s mother not fully supporting the continuation.

“The world reacting to Drake’s involvement so negatively, I just wanted nothing to do with it,” he said. “That was a very sad experience for me. I was naïve to the politics surrounding Aaliyah’s legacy and a bit ignorant to Timbaland’s relationship and everybody else involved and how they’d feel. Tim said to me ‘Don’t stop, make the album.’ I think that was Tim taking the position of, ‘I’m not going to stop you. If you’re not going to do it, that’s your decision.’ But ultimately, I wasn’t comfortable and didn’t like the stigma. We released [‘Enough Said’], but I was seven songs deep. [Aaliyah’s] mother saying, ‘I don’t want this out’ was enough for me. I walked away very quickly.”
