According to a recent interview, Odd Future Balladeer, Frank Ocean, is deep into the process of recording his follow-up LP to “Channel Orange”, his debut retail solo project. In an interview with BBC Radio 1”s Zane Lowe, Ocean spoke on multitudinous topics, such as his appearance at the Grammy’s and more. While speaking on these topics, Ocean also revealed that he is about 10-11 songs into the next project and he is making great progress.
“I’m like what, 10, 11 songs into this next thing,”Ocean said. “I don’t know what to tell you other than that it’s another cohesive thing bordering on a concept record again. At the end of Channel Orange, there’s ‘Golden Girl’ and this beach scene, and I want to extend that feeling to the next record altogether to make it that theme. So I’m going to Bora Bora when I get back … and work for a few weeks.”
Frank also spoke on some collaborations that are in the work or that he would like to get done. He mentioned that he had recently been in the studio with Pharrell Williams and he also mentioned that he plans on going into the studio with producer Danger Mouse upon his return from the United Kingdom.
“I’m getting in with Danger Mouse when I get back to the States,” he said. “Usually when I meet those guys, we’ll sit. If we happen to write something, we do. It’s just cool to feel it out first. It has to be right just as far as chemistry goes. But I love Tame Impala. Tyler [The Creator] put me on to Tame Impala.”
