Singer Frank Ocean is being sued by Chipotle for backing out of a contract with a very weird explanation as to why. Apparently, the singer bailed on a $425,000 deal he made with the mexican food franchise to sing a remake of “Pure Imagination” in an upcoming advertisement campaign.
TMZ broke the story, stating the singer didn’t like how the final cut of the commercial came out.
“Frank Ocean wanted to have his burrito and eat it too — metaphorically speaking — because Chipotle Mexican Grill just sued the singer for backing out of an ad … for what seems like the most ridiculous reason.”
“The restaurant says it got an email from Frank’s people claiming Frank thought he was promised final say over the recording and all promotional materials — and believed the company was in breach when it refused to remove its logo.”
TMZ later revealed that singer Fiona Apple took over the singing responsibilities for the advertisement. Chipotle is suing Ocean for his $212,500 advance.
