Rapper Gucci Mane is trying to get some time off a potentially lengthy jail stay as reports claim the Atlanta rapper is negotiating with the government after his highly publicized arrest in 2013.
According to reports, Gucci and his team are trying to negotiate his situation sometime this week.
“In new court documents obtained exclusively by Radar, Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, and the lawyers for the U.S. government have asked the judge to push the trial – currently set for April 15 — to a later date as they work out a plea deal. “All parties anticipate resolution without the need of a trial,” the documents said.” (RadarOnline)
Back in December, Gucci Mane was indicted on two counts of possession of a firearm felony charges.
“Rapper Gucci Mane was charged in federal court Tuesday with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon after two September incidents during which he showed a gun and threatened police, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia. Reports at the time indicated that the “Lemonade” rhymer was arrested in Atlanta on September 14 after a friend flagged down police to say he was concerned about the rapper’s behavior.” (CNN)
