Gucci Mane Pulled Into Slim Dunkin’s Wrongful Death Case

Rapper Gucci Mane’s legal problems just keep piling up, and he is now named a defendant for a wrongful death lawsuit. The case was filed this week by slain rapper Slim Dunkin’s father.

The complaint was filed by Mark Hamilton, the father of slain rapper Mario “Slim Dunkin” Hamilton, who was shot to death in December 2011 as he prepared to shoot a hip hop music video with Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis. A Fulton County jury in February found Vinson Hardimon guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and gun possession charges for shooting the younger Hamilton during a fight over candy. But the jury acquitted 29-year-old Hardimon, who is also known as rapper Young Vito, of murder and felony murder charges. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

Although Dunkin’s killer received time in prison, Gucci Mane and other individuals have been pulled into the case.

Hardimon, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison, was also named with Davis as a defendant in the wrongful death lawsuit, along with ABC Corp., Warner Brothers Music International and others. The complaint claims that while Mario Hamilton was preparing to shoot his part of the video with Davis at Zone 6 Studio in east Atlanta, Hardimon or someone associated with him accused Hamilton of messing with Hardimon’s candy. The two began to scuffle. When they were separated, an unarmed Mario Hamilton charged Hardimon, according to prosecutors. Hardimon shot and killed the 24-year-old rapper. It is unclear why Mario Hamilton’s father is suing Davis, his son’s hip hop mentor. Davis is currently in jail in DeKalb County on gun charges and faces federal gun charges and aggravated assault charges in Fulton County. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
