J.Cole Details How His “Dreamville” Imprint Deal With Interscope Records Went Down

J.Cole and his crew recently released their “Dreamville” compilation project called “Revenge of The Dreamers.” In an interview with Billboard, Cole explained how his Dreamville imprint deal came about with Interscope Records.

During the interview Cole explains how he went in to the meeting thinking Interscope executive Joie Manda just wanted him to produce another artist at the label, but the executive had a lot bigger ideas.

 “I thought he wanted me to produce someone over there and I was excited about that, but then he told me that he really believed in me as an executive, a label CEO and a producer,” J. Cole says during an interview with Billboard. “A Dr. Dre to his Jimmy Iovine. He had the vision.” (HipHopDx)

The first project that Dreamville will release through Interscope is rapper Bas’ “Last Winter” album which is set to be released March 6th.

“Rapper Bas is slated to release his Last Winter album March 6. It is scheduled to be Dreamville’s first official project through Interscope and will be available for purchases via iTunes and online for free.” (HipHopDx)
