Jennifer Lopez originally planned to hit the road in support of her latest album, she’ll now wait until her next release according to Mtv News.
When This Is Me … Then was released in November, J. Lo figured she had enough movies in the can, with “Gigli” and “Jersey Girl,” that she could finally tour, but she couldn’t refuse offers for “Shall We Dance?” with Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon and “An Unfinished Life” with Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman.
“And so now I think I’m gonna wait,” Lopez said. “The [question] was like, ‘Do we go out now when we’re on the, like, third and fourth single of this album?’ ‘Cause really, you go out at the beginning of an album. And [so] that’s what we’re gonna do. I’m gonna work on something else, and when that comes out I think I’m gonna go out right away, instead of like, ‘Oh, maybe I’ll go out after the second single.'”
Lopez is not finished pushing This Is Me … Then, however, as the fourth single, “Baby I Love U!,” has just been released, along with a video featuring “Gigli” footage directed by Meiert Avis (U2, Bruce Springsteen).
And along with her music and movie careers, J. Lo is keeping busy with other ventures. In October she’ll launch Still, her second fragrance.
Directed at a more upscale market than Glow, the new perfume will be promoted with ads featuring the singer in vintage gowns along with the slogan “In the eye of the storm, I am still Jennifer Lopez,” an apparent nod to the media blitz surrounding her personal life.
J. Lo, who turned 33 on Thursday, received a birthday present in the form of four MTV Video Music Award nominations for the “Flashdance”-inspired “I’m Glad” clip, including Best Female Video.
Lopez also leads the list of contenders for the 2003 Teen Choice Awards with 12 nominations. The August 6 ceremony will air live from Universal City, California, on Fox.
