Ja Rule could be the next rap artist to head to prison for firearm slash weapons charges. Back in July of 2007 after a show at the Beacon Theater, Ja Rule
had his $250,000 Mercedes Maybach pulled over by the police and a .40 caliber pistol was found with the serial number scratched off. Ja Rule later plead not guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and yesterday he suffered a loss in his case as the judge ruled against his challenge of the DNA testing procedure.
Although Ja Rule and his lawyers plan to appeal the ruling, Ja Rule faces up to four years in prison when he stands trial on August 18th. Lil Wayne was actually arrested by the NYPD the same night for the charge that led to him serving eight months on Rikers Island.
