Ja Rule has officially been sentenced to two years more in jail time today, after failing to pay his taxes from 2004 to 2006. The new sentence will end up adding an extra 4 to 12 months to his time in prison he will already be serving for a criminal possession of a weapon conviction.
"I in no way attempted to deceive the government or do anything illegal," Ja Rule said. "I was a young man who made a lot of money -- I'm getting a little choked up -- I didn't know how to deal with these finances" (AP)
In related news, Ja Rule previously had his prison sentence pushed so that he could finish his album in order to make money and pay his IRS debt. Currently Ja owes the government around $1.1 million in back taxes.
