Jay-Z Addresses Cuba Criticism & Nets Ownership In “Open Letter”

Posted By on April 12, 2013

The once self-proclaimed “Greatest of All Time”, Jay-Z is back in rare form as addresses a couple of current events in his life.

In his latest recorded single “Open Letter”, Jigga spares no expense on politician’s concerns about his trip to Cuba as well as speculation about him selling his interest in the Brooklyn Nets.

For those that are unaware of the current turmoil surrounding the Brooklyn native, there has been a great deal of concern, especially from some politicians, about the rapper’s visit to Havana Cuba with his wife, Beyonce Knowles. Some politicians have actually pressed for an investigation into the trip.

Another point of interest has been the speculation that Jay is going to sell his interest in the Brooklyn Nets. He addresses both issues quite vividly in “Open Letter”.

Concerning the trip to Cuba, he spits, “Politicians never did shit for me/ Except lie to me, distort history/ Wanna give me jail time and a fine/ Fine, let me commit a real crime,”

Then he addresses the questions surrounding his ownership of the nets, “Would’ve brought the Nets to Brooklyn for free/ Except I made millions off it, you fuckin’ dweeb/ I still own the building, I’m still keeping my seat/ Y’all buy that bullshit, you’d better keep y’all receipt,”

According to Swizz Beatz, fans of the rapper may have other material to look forward to very soon as he and Jay did two other songs outside of “Open Letter” last night.
