Kid Rock has agreed to take a significant pay cut in order to provide an affordable concert night for fans. The ticket for his “$20 Best Night Ever” concert tour are selling for only $20. With this in mind, the entertainer was candidly disagreeable with the cost of ticket prices for the upcoming “Legends Of The Summer” tour with Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake.
During an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, Kid Rock was abrupt and candid in his displeasure at the elevated ticket prices being charged by these two artist. With the Legend of the Summer tour tickets climbing as high as $275 for non-VIP tickets. Kid Rock immediately responding by calling the prices garbage.
“It’s garbage. It’s highway robbery,” said Kid Rock. “I don’t care who you are. I would consider both of them in the circle of friends in the business, but I don’t agree with it.”
Kid Rock also revealed that he worked very closely with Live Nation to reduce the ticket prices on his tour. His goal was to present a concert in which all of the tickets were $20 on a first come first serve basis, as well as $4 12oz beers, among other concert perks. According the artist’s account he could be taking a pay cut that costs him anywhere from $50,000 – $100,000 per show.
To this point, there has been no response by Jay-Z or Justin Timberlake concerning Kid Rock’s assessment of their ticket prices.
