Jay-Z, the hip hop mogul of moguls, continues to rock the world with live performances. Recently he was infront of a at one time crowd of 140,000 people for this years Glastonbury festival. The festival has long been known for guitar-based rock acts like Oasis's Noel Gallagher, and Jay-Z didn't want to disappoint. Opening up with a film that used Gallagher's now infamous comments and a montage of clips parodying him, he then launched into an acoustic rendition of one of Oasis's biggest hits, "Wonderwall" [watch here].
"His performance will go down in Glastonbury history," wrote the Independent in a review of the festival. Most predicted that Jigga would be booed off the stage but instead "both audience and artist rose to the occasion and turned in a moment of real, euphoric, pop-culture history." The Guardian concluded: "It's brilliantly staged, utterly thrilling and it makes Gallagher look a bit of a berk." Jay-Z also made a stop at popular talk show host Jonathan Ross where he gave one of the best interviews to date [watch here]. Make sure you check that out also.
