Jay-Z To Headline Pemberton Festival, Blamed For Low Ticket Sales For Other Event

The first ever Pemberton Festival in British Columbia this July will be headlined by Hip Hop Mogul, Jay-Z. Billboard is reporting that Jay-Z will co-headline the huge event with Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails and Tom Petty. The festival will go down in Pemberton, B.C. (about two hours from Vancouver) near the famous Whistler Ski Resort. The three-day music fest will also have camping facilities, an RV Park, and over 50 bands performing on two stages. Tickets go on sale for the July 25th to 27th event on Friday, March 28th. In other news, Jay-Z is also booked to headline the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. after organizers announced they were "breaking with tradition" by getting a rapper instead of a rock band to lead the event. Ticket Sales for the event are reportedly way down and the head organizer, Michael Eavis, recently implied it has something to do with Jay-Z's appearance saying “There’s not as many as last year because we haven’t got the super, big, big, big sort of headlining act anymore,” he told the BBC. “We’ve gone for something middle range although Jay-Z is huge in America.”
