Jay-Z To Represent Nets At NBA Draft Lottery

Posted By on May 19, 2008

Jay-Z, who has an ownership stake in the New Jersey Nets, will now represent the NBA team at the NBA Draft Lottery which will air live on May 20th on ESPN at 8pm. “This is very exciting and I hope my nickname “Lucky Lefty” holds up,” Jigga said in a statement.

Marking the first time the Nets have been in the draft since 2001, the Nets only have a 1.1 percent chance of landing the top pick. Jay-Z isn't the only hip hop and R&B artists to have a minority ownership stake in a NBA team. Nelly has ownership in the Charlotte Bobcats and Usher owns a stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers. Jigga openly supports relocating the Nets to Brooklyn, New York from New Jersey.
