Kanye West recently finished a week of work over at FOX studios in Los Angeles for an upcoming animated sitcom, "The Cleveland Show." What exactly will Kanye West be doing on the show? Kanye will be providing the voice for the creatively dubbed "Kenny West" character. "Before we came to the table there was only one line he didn't love and he came up with another idea and in a completely modest, nice way said, 'Would you mind if I changed just this one line,'" executive producer Richard Appel said. "And our feeling was, how many raps have we written? One? And how many has he written? Be our guest!"
"The Cleveland Show" follows everyone's favorite soft-spoken neighbor Cleveland Brown (voiced by Mike Henry) to his hometown in Virginia, as he settles down with his high school sweetheart, her unruly kids and his 14 year-old son, Cleveland Jr. (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson).
Besides providing his voice for the character, Kanye will also be executive producing the "black version of the Muppets" with fellow rapper, Rhymefest. "It's kinda like black comedy but it's got so many other cultural puppets in it and it's going to be about the hypocrisy in our culture," RhymeFest told SOHH. "It's kinda like '30 Rock' and 'Saturday Night Live' put together..The show is about these puppets that are trying to put on this sketch parody variety type of show and you see sketches and pieces and bits but you also see behind the scenes them just trying to get to work."
