Kanye West Talks Cudi’s “Crack Music” (Audio)

Posted By on November 4, 2010

Kanye West recently spoke up about his G.O.O.D. music artist Kid CuDi's public battles with addiction, adding the impact it has played on his music. Kanye thinks that Cudi's honesty through his music is what makes him favorable and allows his fans to relate to him on a human level.

"Yeah, he has," Kanye said in an interview when asked if Cudi has been doing better since entering drug rehabilitation for cocaine addiction. "Actually I was just on e-mail with him earlier. Kid Cudi is my personal favorite artist in the world right now. His music, whenever you see his performances, his whole take on the game right now is just unfiltered, uncensored artistry and that's something me and Jay[-Z] look up to, even once you get that commercial success. You'd like to take everything down to an unfiltered space and that's what he's delivering — the dark moments that we've had, whether somebody is dealing with a loss, drug addiction or whatever it is, it helps add a fuel to music and those life experiences, real people deal with those kinds of things and the fact that we as celebrities and musicians can deal with those things and reflect them, it just makes it relate more."
