Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar racked up a slew of awards last night at The BET Awards held in Los Angeles.
Lamar picked up two of the most coveted awards-“Best New Artist” and “Best Male Hip Hop Artist”.Other “Best New Artist” nominees included Azealia Banks, Joey Bada$$, Trinidad Jame$, and Canadian singer The Weeknd.
Lamar also picked up an award for best collaboration for the A$AP Rocky smash “Problems”. Aside from picking up awards left and right, Lamar brought the house down with a performance of “m.A.A.d City” and “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe”. Erykah Badu joined Kendrick for the latter.
