Singer Lauryn Hill has done her time and has been released from jail.
You may remember Hill being sentenced to three months jail time after choosing not to file taxes. She wrote about the choice in a blog post a few months back.
“My intention has always been to get this situation rectified,” said Hill in her blog post. “When I was working consistently without being affected by the interferences mentioned above, I filed and paid my taxes. This only stopped when it was necessary to withdraw from society, in order to guarantee the safety and well-being of myself and my family.”
New music also comes from the singer this week. She dropped a song called “Consumerism” which focuses on the racism and greed in the corporate world. Check it out below:
