Lil Wayne Responds to Luther “Luke” Campbell’s Letter Concerning His Statements About the Miami Heat

Posted By on February 25, 2013

Lil Wayne has been under some intense heat after making some rather pernicious and derogatory statements toward the Miami Heat and their three star players, LeBron James, Dewayne Wade, and Chris Bosh. He even went as far as to say that he slept with Bosh’s Wife. Of course, he didn’t state it that nicely.

In response to Wayne’s rants, veteran Miami Rapper, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell responded in a blog, calling Wayne out for his disrespect, but also calling on some of the relevant rappers in Miami to step to Wayne to get him straight.

Most recently, Wayne has responded to Luke’s outrage and he has apologized for his statements, by saying that he is passionate about sports and he just felt disrespected by the NBA and the Team.

“I can’t change nobody’s personal opinion. I can’t change nobody’s personal view,” Wayne said in an interview with 99 Jamz. “I can just keep doing what I do and keep putting food on the table for my family and that’s what I’m going to do no matter what.”

“I haven’t [read Luke’s letter], but I already know how he feels about me,” Wayne continued, referring specifically to the letter. “I’ve never met him actually. …Ever since I got here, there were billboards and signs saying, ‘Lil Wayne, Go Back Home,’ you know what I mean? And I didn’t do anything.”

Miami has become a little cold toward the rapper and it has impacted his outlook on the entire matter.

“This is Miami, I can’t move,” said the skate boarding enthusiast. “I got the best skate weather, ever, down here. … Like I said, the main thing I really want to get out there is that I do apologize for the misunderstanding to the city of Miami. I love everyone here, it’s just I’m passionate about sports and I felt very disrespected, that’s all. I felt very, very disrespected.”

No one is sure whether Wayne’s apology will be accepted or not.
