Posted By on July 28, 2008

Lil Wayne recently put out the video for
his "Got Money" [watch here] single featuring chorus-king T-Pain Young Money artist, Mack Maine. In the video,
loosely based on Spike Lee's "Inside Man," Lil Wayne plays a modern
day Robin Hood who is a mastermind behind a bank heist where he gives the money
to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

In related news, we reported last week [more here], Lil
e was sued for copyright infringement over a Rolling Stone sample a company
says he used in "Playing With Fire." Fabian Marasciullo, Weezy's
engineer, says the sample was used in the original version but the songs
producer StreetRunner (who was also sued) "went back in, unbeknownst to Wayne, got Betty Wright,
replayed the guitars on the record." Marasciullo says “Wayne
was like, ‘We can’t get it cleared, We can’t use it,’ ” he said of the
"Playing With Fire" continuing “I told him he re-did it and Wayne was so excited.”
