As we reported earlier, Lil Wayne went on the second season premiere of Katie Couric’s show, “Katie.”
Wayne and Couric talked about a few different topics including Wayne’s jail sentence and his childhood.
Another topic that stood out was Wayne’s often talked about retirement plans.
While speaking with Couric, Wayne confirmed he plans on retiring from music by the age of 35, and the reason is so he would be able to spend more time with his children.
“Whatever they want to do. I don’t want to have no influence … ‘Hey you must do this, you must do that,'” Wayne explained. “Because I didn’t have that and because I didn’t have that I grew up to be exactly what I wanted to be and how I wanted to be. I want that for all of my kids.”
Wayne also said, “I know I’ll be ready to retire at thirty-five because I am so ready to retire now!”
Weezy has said or indicated that he will retire after releasing “Tha Carter IV”, but then said he would once “Tha Carter V” was released. Only time will tell when Weezy will officially retire from music.
