After Lil Wayne told MTV he planned to release a new version of his album "Tha Carter III" with all new songs, rumors began circulating on Monday (10/27) that Lil Wayne had signed to Jay-Z's "Roc Nation" label for a flat $5 million dollars to do exactly that. Now those rumors have been cleared up. Representatives for Lil Wayne officially said the rumors were false and that Weezy had not signed with Jigga's new label. Roc Nation is part of Jay-Z's $150 million dollar partnership deal with concert promoter Live Nation. So far Jay-Z is the only artist on the label.
In related news, Lil Wayne recently missed two high-profile concerts in the last two days. On Sunday (10/26) Weezy didn't show up for a concert with Ludacris, T-Pain and Rick Ross after he wasn't happy with the venue's sound system. Fans were offered full refunds and many left before the show was over after the announcement was made that Lil Wayne would not perform. As we previously reported, on Monday Lil Wayne didn't show up for a show in Boston with Jay-Z. Reports have since indicated Wayne left after he was informed that entourage and himself would have to go through the venues security system.
