Lil Wayne got his first #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart this week with his single "Lollipop," which jumped from number 2 with the help of over 180,000 downloads of the track according to SoundScan. Before now, the highest Wayne had scored on the chart as a solo artist was number 14 with "Go DJ" back in 2004. That doesn't mean Wayne hasn't been on the charts, as he has made 20 appearances on the Hot 100 chart alone since 1999 but mainly with his collaborations.
Although Lil Wayne's new album The Carter III has changed release dates a few times, it's one of the most anticipated albums of the year. Universal now says that the album should hit stores on June 10th.
