Maybach Music Group standout Meek Mill was arrested recently and it is looking like he will be spending a little longer behind bars than he had expected as reports claim the rapper had requested to get out of jail, but got denied.
Although the MMG rapper and his team had an emergency hearing granted to them, Meek could not convince the judge to release him.
“Meek Mill suffered a setback in his quest to get out of jail after a judge rejected his lawyers’ request for an emergency hearing yesterday. He has been jailed since July 11 for violating terms of his probation stemming from a 2009 drug and gun conviction. His lawyers filed a petition Thursday asking for the hearing within three days, in hopes of freeing the 27-year-old rapper – whose real name is Robert Williams.” (Philly)
“Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is behind bars Friday night. Mill, seen in video at the scene of last weekend’s deadly fire in Southwest Philadelphia, will spend three to six months behind bars after violating his probation. He’s in custody right now. Prosecutors say they were concerned about a number of recent incidents with Mill, including posting a photo of himself with a gun.” (My Fox Philly)
