Under the Cloud of a possible beef between Mobb Deep Cohorts, Prodigy and Havoc, Prodigy was recently quoted on PNC Radio’s “The Usual Suspects” as saying that he still believes that a new Mobb Deep project is forthcoming.
It all started when a number of extremely derogatory and homophobic tweets hit the twitter airwaves from Havoc’s twitter account. Initially, Havoc denied that the tweets came from him, suggesting that someone must have hacked into his account. Later, he admitted that the tweets did come from him. He said that they came from a place of anger and they were wrong, but they were still true. He said that in time the truth would come out about what Prodigy had done. Along with some derogatory statements about Prodigy’s character, Havoc also accused Prodigy of participating in homosexual activity while he was in prison.
Havoc then declared that Mop Deep was inactive and on an indefinite Hiatus. Both of the members of this once potent duo are active in their solo careers at this time, but Prodigy iterated that he his definitely confident that there will be something new coming from the group in the not so distant future.
“Yeah, I’m sure about that, I love Mobb Deep…Mobb Deep made my life what it is. Havoc feels the same way, so we’ll be right back to work. For right now, he’s doing his thing and I’m doing my thing. I’ve got goals I’m trying to accomplish, and I really can’t let nothing sidestep me or get in the way of that. If that means I gotta put Mobb Deep on standby for the time being, then so be it.”
