Prodigy Goes Latin, Set To Release Spanish Video & Album

Posted By on June 6, 2008

Although Prodigy, one-half of the rap duo Mobb Deep along with partner Havoc, is currently fulfilling a three-year prison term for gun
possession, he still is making moves. Prodigy is planning to release his single "The Life" in Spanish with a video to go along with it. Using the Voxonic’s Voice Conversion Technology, a software that converts recorded voice samples into different languages in the original voice, the Spanish version is set to appear on “H.N.I.C. Pt. 2: The DVD Collection,” which will be available in stores July 8.

Prodigy is signed to Voxonic Music, the company who makes the software, and will be the first artist to release a Spanish-language song using the technology. Voxonic president Ari Deutsch says “I’ve always been a big fan of Mobb Deep, and he just happened to be available when I was looking to sign someone to Voxonic Music,” Deutsch said “I’m thrilled and couldn’t be happier that our first commercial release was Prodigy.”
Prodigy will also release a full Spanish-language album titled “H.N.I.C. Pt. Dos,” in September via Voxonic Music. “My dream was for foreign language fans to understand what their favorite artists are saying. And what better way to have it than in his voice?” says Deutsch.
