Ne-Yo isn't satisfied with just doing music, the R&B star will not only star in the upcoming romantic film "Venice Beach" but he will also executive producer the movie. Ne-Yo, in his first major starring role, will play a gifted musician who helps inspire a young female that gave up on her dream of becoming a singer. Ne-Yo's character will be from 'Venice Beach' while the 18-year-old girl is from Manhattan. The two go on a quest for their musical careers with both their friends and family against them.
Ne-Yo will of couse be writing the soundtrack, while Duane Adler writes the script for the movie. Adler also worked with Ne-Yo in 'Save The Last Dance 2' in 2007. Paul Hunter is in talks to direct the movie. Hunter directed 2003's "Bulletproof Munk" plus many music videos for artists like Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Marilyn Manson.
