But first the mayor of Nellyville will warm up on college campuses. Nelly is inching closer to locking down a major tour for the spring. The St. Louis-bred “TRL” darling is said to be finalizing an itinerary that will see him setting up shop at theaters across the country starting in late March and ending in May.
Fat Joe and Fabolous have been confirmed as opening acts, and Nelly’s rep said he’s in negotiations with a few of his other mic-grabbing friends to join the lineup. The tour will hit St. Louis, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Memphis, Orlando, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle and Las Vegas.
The mayor of Nellyville will get a nice little warm-up for the tour when he embarks on a brief run of college campuses beginning March 7 at Southern Illinois University. The Derrty Ent. family of Murphy Lee, Ali and Big Gip, and the rest of the St. Lunatics will also be on the bill for those shows.
Nelly’s film “The Longest Yard” comes out Memorial Day weekend, and the soundtrack for the movie drops May 17 on Derrty Ent.
