L.A. Times Writer Apologizes For Tupac Shooting Article

As we reported yesterday [read here], The Smoking Gun produced evidence that the documents Chuck Phillips used to base his article on which claimed Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond were involved in the 1994 Shooting of Tupac Shakur [original story here]. Now the writer & L.A. Times deputy managing editor Marc Duvoisin have apologized to readers for the March 17th story called "Blood Fued." Phillips said "In relying on documents that I now believe were fake, I failed to do my job," continuing "I'm sorry." The L.A. Times editor Marc Duvoisin added "We should not have let ourselves be fooled," continuing "That we were is as much my fault as Chuck's. I deeply regret that we let our readers down." Diddy and Henchman both denied the charges immediately and Phillips replied today saying "I now believe the truth here is that I got duped," continuing "For this, I take full responsibility and I apologize."
