Akon's "Konvict Muzik Company" recently launched an office in London. The label is home to such artists as T-Pain and Kardinal Offishall and hopes to expand it's roster with the move. Melvin Brown, CEO & Co-Owner, said “We will be scanning Europe and Africa for the next mega superstars,” continuing "When Akon and I partnered and created Konvict Muzik, we agreed that we would have the hottest artists on our roster. I have concentrated on diversifying the artist roster and creating an international presence. I personally look for unique artists.”
Other artists who are on Konvict Music include R&B singer Ray L, Pop/R&B act Colby O, and Atlanta rapper Dolla, who are all working on their debut albums, due out sometime this year. The label president and lead artist, Akon, is currently working on the follow up to his multi-platinum sophomore release Konvicted, which is due in stores this Spring.
