Akon has recorded a song that addresses the fallout surrounding his on-stage sex simulation with a 14-year-old girl in Trinidad.

"As life goes on, I start to learn more and more about responsibility," said the singer in the intro of the song entitled "Put the Blame on Me."

It was leaked to Ryan Seacrest's radio show on a Los Angeles station, KIIS-FM.

"I realize that everything I do is affecting the people around me," he further elaborates. "So I want to take this time out to apologize for things that I've done; things that haven't occurred yet; things they don't want to take responsibility for."

Akon also apologizes to former tour partner Gwen Stefani, who was affected when Verizon pulled out of the tour as a sponsor based on the Trinidad incident.
