will.i.am is continuing to expand his business empire, this time by partnering with RIM (Research In Motion), the company famous for their Blackberry phones. This week, RIM announced that they will be partnering with the famous rapper and producer to bring his Dipdive community to the Blackberry platform. As Reuters reports, the venture will allow the Dipdive community to share its multimedia content to all of the millions of Blackberry users. RIM has been trying to add to its mainly business users, by adding more of the normal consumer market. “Probably the two hottest trends in wireless are social networking…and the other one is the multimedia, which is principally portable music,” RIM CEO Jim Balsillie said. The Black Eyed Peas member has used the community to release his wildly popular Barak Obama song "Yes We Can," and it's video that features tons of celebrities including Common, John Legend and Fonzworth Bentley. So far the video has been viewed by over 5.7 million times on YouTube. will.i.am then released a video called "We Are The Ones" which featured appearances from John Leguizamo, Jessica Alba and Macy Gray among others, which you can see here.
