For all his troubles, Busta Rhymes may end up avoiding any jail time stemming from two separate assault incidents. On February 20th, the rapper was offered a plea agreement by Criminal Court Judge Tanya Kennedy.
In the summer of 2006, Busta was charged with assaulting a man who accidentally spit on his vehicle. Busta was later charged with the beating of his former driver over unpaid money on December 26th.
According to XXLMag.com, The plea agreement states that Busta would be sentenced to five days of community service and attending anger management classes. In addition, the rapper would be required to two weeks of service at a non-profit organization speaking to children about the dangers of violence.
This isn’t Busta Rhymes’ first quarrel with the law. After The rapper’s bodyguard Israel Ramirez was gunned down last year on the set of the “Touch It Remix,” the New York Police Department commented on his lack of cooperation: “I’d think he’d be knocking on the door. … If your employee’s murdered in front of you, you think you might want to talk to the police.”
Judge Kennedy has given Busta until March 26th to consider the deal.
