DMX Loses Defamation Case, Ordered To Pay 1.5 Million In Damages

In a 2006 interview, DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, told Sister 2 Sister Magazine that he was sexually assaulted during a one-night-encounter in 2003 with Monique Wayne. She has since sued DMX for defamation. Friday the judge in the case rueld for Ms Wayne and ordered DMX to pay the mother of one of his children $1.5 million in damages. The $1.5 million includes $518,000 in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages. “It’s not so much the price, it’s the point I wanted to get across,” Wayne explained to The Post. “Let him think about what he’s going to say before he says it.”
